Mapping Toolkit

Community Mapping Toolkit and Support

Open Doors, working alongside Sharing Learning Doing, developed a Community Mapping Toolkit.

The purpose of the pack is to help community centre committees find out more about the people who use the centre, others who live and work in the local community and what role the centre is able to play within the area.

It comprises of a series of activities which will help committees understand more about the community and how to develop connections to include more individuals and groups and to attract people to become more active within the centre.

  • Increased your contacts within the local area

  • Developed your relationships with a range of social, commercial and local authority organizations

  • A better idea of what people want from your centre

  • Evidence to support you in developing your services and activities

  • Given people the opportunity to think about how they can help their local community centre
