Newcastle Council for Voluntary Services

Newcastle CVS works to support, develop, promote, connect and represent voluntary and community organisations in Newcastle.  Our work helps to make Newcastle a better place by helping to develop a thriving voluntary and community sector.  We do this through out three service areas:

  • Supporting and developing local organisations to thrive

  • Networking and involving local organisations to engage

  • Representing and influencing on behalf of the voluntary and community sector.

S.E.S.  Sustainable Enterprise Strategies

Boxx consultants offer a whole range of property related professional services including:

  • Project management – working with you to guide and develop projects through the feasibility and design phase to construction

  • Surveying – providing a full range of property surveys including schedules of condition, planned maintenance and fire risk assessment

  • Design services for construction projects covering refurbishment, extension and alterations and new builds

  • Facilities Management – including planned maintenance, statutory testing and inspection, repairs and maintenance.

Locality

Locality is the UK’s leading network of development trusts, community enterprises, settlements and social action centres. Helping people to set up and lead organisations and to work effectively through peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge and best practice on a range of topics. 

The Asset Transfer Unit is part of Locality and it promotes and supports community asset transfer.  There is range of information and publications available from the website.

Ouseburn Trust

The Ouseburn Trust works to regenerate the Ouseburn Valley area, support communities and protect and promote the local heritage.  Open Doors is a project of the Trust which works to build the capacity of people to manage local community buildings and to engage with their local communities.
